The opportunity
In collaboration with a UX researcher, we conducted a series of interviews with merchandisers from both B2C and B2B sectors. The objective of the research was to gain a deeper understanding of the merchandiser's responsibilities, daily tasks, and role. During the interviews, we consistently heard about a significant challenge faced by many teams, which was the reliance on manual site merchandising, often down to the product's SKU level. This approach requires significant effort and makes it difficult to keep up with the workload. Additionally, teams have to react to unexpected outcomes.Ā 
Based on the valuable feedback we received from the interviews, we have initiated an exploration and developed a product pitch for an Intelligent Merchandiser Tool.

The feedback received from the merchandiser's interviews and concept designs significantly impacted the development and prioritization of new features for our commerce platform. As a result, merchandisers now can implement intelligent strategies for sorting catalog products, including options such as Popularity and Trending.
